Cannon Power Solutions delivered full grid capacity identification and G99 connection support for a large-scale 70 MW solar PV farm, guiding the client from early feasibility through to formal submission.

Our scope included:

Identifying viable grid capacity within the UK Power Networks (UKPN) distribution system, analysing available headroom and evaluating multiple potential points of connection

Reviewing DNO network data, heatmaps, and development plans to locate suitable substations and assess reinforcement risks

Collaborating with the client to define the most technically and commercially viable connection strategy, balancing export capability, project timelines, and infrastructure constraints

Preparing and submitting the complete G99 connection application, including detailed technical data, single-line diagrams, and generation profiles

Acting as the lead liaison with UKPN, managing all communication, technical clarifications, and submission follow-up to ensure a smooth and timely process

This service helped de-risk the project during the critical early stages, ensuring alignment between the PV farm’s export requirements and the grid’s actual capability.
