Design Assurance & Coordination 

 

At Cannon Power Solutions, we provide specialist design assurance and coordination services to ensure the quality, compliance, and deliverability of power system designs across all stages of project development. Our role is to act as a technical gatekeeper—independently reviewing designs to ensure they meet the expectations of DNOs, National Grid ESO, and project stakeholders.

 

We work with developers, EPCs, and ICPs to ensure all electrical designs are:

 

• Technically accurate

 

• Grid-compliant (G99, G100, ENA, NGESO)

 

• Aligned with project milestones and contractual obligations

 

• Fit for construction, energisation, and final acceptance

• Independent design reviews at feasibility, developed, and detailed design stages

 

• Coordination between developers, designers, ICPs, DNOs, and contractors

 

• Assurance of contestable and non-contestable works to ensure consistency and compliance

 

• Design risk mitigation and constructability input

 

• Validation of key technical documents, such as SLDs, protection schemes, layout drawings, and cable schedules

 

• Review of DNO offer compliance, including scope interpretation and alignment with design packages

 

• Support during design approval processes with DNOs and NGESO (e.g., design submissions, RFI responses, A&D milestone tracking)
